Allowing Licensed Foreign Pharmacies to Sell Prescription Drugs in South Carolina
Allowing Licensed Pharmacies in Select Countries to Distribute and Sell Prescription Drugs in South Carolina
S.102 would permit pharmacies licensed in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand to distribute and sell prescription drugs in South Carolina without a permit. Third party entities which import and distribute prescription drugs (for personal use) from pharmacies licensed in the above countries would also be allowed to do so without a permit. This reform would help to increase competition in the prescription drug market in South Carolina thereby driving down the price of pharmaceuticals to the benefit of all South Carolinians. Proper healthcare reforms such as this use the power of the market (long suppressed by government) to drive down prices and increase consumer choice.
